Care Maintenance Warranty
When used, the knife should be treated with love and always consider, this knife is there to provide you with a tool to skin, cut and slice, it is in no way made to be used as a prybar, screwdriver, axe, batoning on chopping bone or cutting on plates etc. If used in this way there is a possibility to crack, chip or damage the blade beyond repair.
Always wash the knife off with fresh clean water and a mild detergent if required.
Never use solvents to clean the knife as these may affect the bond of the epoxy on the handle scales. Never put the handle or leave the blade in boiling water.
Dry with a soft clean cloth and apply some oil to the whole knife (butcher block oil or any Food Safe Oil). This is required if the blade material is High Carbon Steel and not Stainless Steel. A small bottle of Black Wolf Knives Blade Oil is provided as a sample.
All Black Wolf Knives come with a 20deg inclusive edge unless stipulated on the Knife Card that is sent with every knife.
Kydex
Sheath can be washed with a mild detergent and water. Make sure the sheath is completely dry internally before placing the knife in the sheath for storage to avoid the blade from getting a patina from the moisture left in the sheath. A Kydex sheath is totally custom made to the individual knife and cannot be replicated without the knife. The sheath is designed and finished to have a snap engagement when the knife is fully inserted into the sheath.
At no time should the sheath be subjected to boiling water, open flame or heat air gun as these will make the Kydex soften and the form will be lost and the knife will no longer fit snuggly.
Leather
Leather sheath should be kept dry at all times. If wet then let dry in cool dry place out of direct sunshine. Do not place in front of fire or in an oven. Do not bend or twist a dried-out sheath as the leather may crack or tear.
After dry, be sure to apply a good quality leather conditioner to lubricate the leather again.
